Ayub Khosa

Ayub is currently delivering a powerhouse performance as the tribal elder Sardar Hashim in the 2026 Green TV blockbuster Maati. He also recently appeared in the 2025 high-concept series Jaan-e-Jahan (ARY Digital). In February 2026, he was honored at the Quetta Literature Festival for his lifelong contribution to promoting Balochi and Sindhi culture through mainstream media. The PTV Quetta Breakthrough (1980s): Ayub began his career at PTV Quetta Centre in the early 80s. He became a national household name with the drama Sassi Punno, but it was his role in the tribal epic Chaon that established his signature "Intense Patriarch" persona. His ability to perform fluently in Balochi, Sindhi, Brahui, Urdu, and English made him a unique asset for the national broadcaster. The "Khuda Kay Liye" Global Impact (2007): While a TV legend, Ayub’s film career reached a global audience with Shoaib Mansoor's Khuda Kay Liye, where he played the role of the extremist leader. He followed this with significant roles in major films like Yalghaar (2017) as Colonel Jaman, and a memorable appearance in The Legend of Maula Jatt (2022). Modern Television Mastery: In the private channel era, he has dominated roles requiring authority and moral complexity. Notable performances include Mera Saaeen (2010), where he played a loyalist to the feudal lord, and the spiritually-driven Sang-e-Mah (2022), where his portrayal of a village elder added immense weight to the tribal setting. Advocacy & Heritage: Beyond acting, Ayub is a vocal advocate for the development of arts in Balochistan. He has mentored hundreds of young performers and has been instrumental in the revival of regional theater. In a March 2026 interview, he emphasized that his goal is to "narrate the untold stories of the soil" before he retires. Background: Born in Jaffarabad, Balochistan, Ayub holds a graduate degree from the University of Balochistan. He was awarded the Pride of Performance in 2005 by the Government of Pakistan for his services to the entertainment industry.
