Shahnawaz Zaidi is a highly respected Pakistani artist, celebrated for his diverse talents as an actor, poet, painter, and professor. Born in Karachi, Pakistan, he holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Punjab. His extensive career in the arts spans several decades, beginning with his acting debut on PTV Lahore Centre in the 1980s. Zaidi has graced numerous Pakistani drama serials with his presence, earning recognition for his skillful and versatile performances. Beyond his acting prowess, Shahnawaz Zaidi is also an accomplished Urdu poet, with several published collections including "Aaina Daar" (2001), "Gitanjali" (2005), and "Tamasha" (2014). He is also known for his painting, particularly excelling in portraits. His contributions to the arts were officially recognized in 2014 when he was awarded the prestigious Pride of Performance Award, one of Pakistan's highest civilian honors. Zaidi's academic career includes serving as the creative director of Scan Communications in 1982, and later as a professor at The Institute of Art and Culture, from which he retired in 2021. He also held the position of director at the Ali Institute of Education. His multifaceted involvement in both performing and visual arts, as well as education, has made him a significant figure in Pakistan's cultural landscape.
