Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is a prominent Pakistani screenwriter, director, Urdu poet, and lyricist, renowned for his emotionally intense and often controversial contributions to the Pakistani entertainment industry. Born in 1962 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, Qamar developed a passion for storytelling and poetry at a young age. Despite pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA, his heart remained tethered to literature. He initially embarked on a professional career in banking, rising to the position of vice president at the National Bank of Pakistan. However, in his early 30s, Qamar decided to follow his true calling, making a significant career change to pursue writing. His debut in television drama came in 1995 with "Dastak Aur Darwaza," where he not only penned the script but also acted, marking the beginning of a prolific journey. Over the years, he has become a household name, known for crafting dialogues that are both powerful and dramatic. His work often explores themes of love, betrayal, societal injustices, and the intricate dynamics between men and women, frequently sparking public discourse and debate. He is recognized for his meticulous approach to scriptwriting, often insisting on the precise delivery of his dialogues and prohibiting any alterations to his original work.
