Bilal Ashraf is a prominent Pakistani actor, producer, and visual effects director who has significantly contributed to Pakistani cinema. Born on October 10, 1979, in Karachi, Pakistan, Ashraf initially pursued a diverse academic path, studying visual effects at Franklin Marshall College, with a double major in finance and arts, and a minor in psychology. He further honed his skills in animation at Escape Studios in London. Before stepping into the limelight, Ashraf spent a decade working behind the camera as a visual effects director and also worked as a hedge fund consultant in New York. His passion for filmmaking was deeply inspired by his late sister, Sadia Ashraf, a director and filmmaking teacher at New York University, who envisioned enhancing Pakistan's cinema. Ashraf made his acting debut with a cameo in the 2014 thriller film "O21." He continued to build his filmography with roles in the acclaimed war drama "Yalghaar" (2017) and the musical romance "Superstar" (2019), which became his highest-grossing film.
